Staying up to date with your vaccinations
Vaccination is one of the most effective ways to protect against serious vaccine-preventable diseases. Vaccines work with the body’s immune system to build protection against specific infections. Depending on the vaccine, immunisation can reduce the risk of infection and complications. A high vaccination coverage can also help limit the spread of some diseases within the community.
What we offer
Immunisations provided by our vaccination clinic
Protection for every stage of life, with clear advice at each visit.
Childhood vaccinations
We keep your child’s immunisations on track in line with the National Immunisation Program (NIP), with clear explanations at every visit so you know what’s being given and why. Staying on schedule helps protect your child and the wider community as well.
Adolescent and teen vaccinations
Adolescents are recommended to receive several vaccinations as part of the NIP, many of which are offered through school vaccination programs. If a dose has been missed, we can review their immunisation history and organise an appropriate catch-up dose.
Vaccinations for adults
When it comes to adult vaccinations, our GP will assess your immunisation needs based on your age, health and vaccination history, helping you keep your protection up to date.
Vaccinations during pregnancy
During pregnancy, some illnesses can pose a higher risk to you and your baby. Vaccinations can help reduce these risks, and we will guide you through the recommended vaccinations and when to administer them.
Travel vaccinations (routine and destination-specific)
Planning a trip overseas often means specific vaccines depending on where you are headed. Whether it’s a routine booster or a destination-specific vaccine, we help you prepare properly for travel, with advice tailored to your needs.
Catch-up and overdue vaccinations
If you have fallen behind on vaccinations, our team will conduct a thorough assessment to determine what you need and help bring your vaccinations up to date.
Vaccinations for at-risk and vulnerable people
If you have a chronic condition or other risk factor, you may need additional vaccinations beyond the standard schedule. We assess your situation and recommend what’s appropriate.
Occupational and workplace vaccinations
Some occupations carry a higher risk of exposure to vaccine-preventable diseases or have specific immunisation requirements. Our vaccination clinic helps you meet these and provide documentation where appropriate.

Questions
Frequently asked questions
Still not sure? Call reception on 07 3205 6094 and we will talk it through.
Is vaccination covered by Medicare?
Some vaccines are provided free to eligible patients through the NIP or other government-funded programs. Medicare may also cover or contribute towards the consultation, depending on the service and your eligibility. If you are unsure about what’s covered, our friendly team is happy to help.
How long does vaccine immunity last?
This varies depending on the vaccine. Some vaccinations can provide long-lasting protection after the recommended course, while others, such as influenza vaccination, are recommended each year.
Do vaccines have side effects?
Yes, certain side effects may occur, but in most cases, they are mild and temporary. These may include tenderness or swelling at the injection site, and sometimes a mild fever or tiredness for a day or two.
Do I need an appointment for a flu shot?
While we recommend booking ahead, particularly as flu season approaches, walk-ins are welcome at our vaccination clinic (subject to availability).
How far in advance should I book travel vaccinations?
Ideally, 6–8 weeks before you travel, since some vaccines require multiple doses spaced apart or take time to become fully effective. If you are travelling sooner, please reach out to our team to discuss your options and check what you may need before you go.
